This site uses the smallest set of cookies that we can get away with while still operating reliably.
What we use
- Essential cookies. Set by the LiteSpeed Cache layer to manage cached versus uncached page delivery. These do not identify you and do not track behaviour. Lifetime: typically the duration of the browsing session, occasionally up to seven days for cache-routing purposes. These are exempt from consent requirements under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
- WordPress login cookies. Set only if you log into the site as an administrator or editor (you are not such a user unless we have specifically given you credentials). Not set for ordinary visitors.
What we do not use
- Google Analytics. We do not use it. We have no Google tracking on the site.
- Advertising cookies. We do not advertise to the audience this site is for and we do not collect data for advertising purposes.
- Third-party trackers. Pinterest, Meta, LinkedIn, X, and similar trackers are not present on this site.
- Fingerprinting. We do not run any device-fingerprinting scripts.
If we add analytics later
We intend to deploy Plausible Analytics, a UK and EU-based privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. Plausible operates without consent banners under both UK GDPR and the EU ePrivacy Directive because it is, by design, GDPR and PECR compliant. When Plausible is enabled, this notice will be updated to reflect it.
How to control cookies
You can clear and block cookies from your browser settings. Because this site uses only essential cookies, blocking them will affect site performance (caching) but will not prevent you using the site or its forms. The site does not depend on tracking cookies for any feature.
